"JOAN will make you sweat. It's raw, physical and bursting with energy... There couldn't be a more ideal play to which to bring a theatre-reluctant teenager... I dare you to walk out of JOAN without a tear in your eye and the feeling you can change the world for the better." - Anne Marie DeLuca, Electric City (Scranton, PA)

JOAN is the story of the young peasant girl who led an army to help crown a king and was burned at the stake for her efforts. The play incorporates Joan of Arc’s own words from letters, chronicles and testimony at her trial to create the living story of a fearless teen who was bound by her oath to God. The actors use an empty space to create each scene of Joan’s life with movement, voice and sound. A series of short scenes played in a fast-paced, physical, jump-cut style, the play flows like a live-action montage that switches genres and settings in a flash. The result is a dynamic and exhilarating play based on historical fact.
