Synopsis

American Southwest Theatre Company (Las Cruces, NM)

Chou, an innocent child born in prison, is befriended by a yellow butterfly that has the ability to bring stories to life. The stories, from Chinese folklore and the Beijing opera, transport Chou and others to various places in the middle kingdom. Such a valuable creature would bring wealth to its owner, and the other prisoners and guards attempt to steal the yellow butterfly.
